Description
Central Michigan University seeks qualified part-time temporary instructors to teach the following courses:
Course: (Multiple Michigan Locations)
PHL 345 The Civil Rights Movement
Requirements:
A Ph.D. in Philosophy with graduate level coursework in the topic to be taught is preferred or at least graduate work on the topic. An ABD might be considered if candidate has teaching experience.
Course: (Richmond, VA area)
PHL 518 Professional Ethics
Requirements:
A Ph.D. in Philosophy with graduate level coursework in the topic to be taught preferred. The experience within the discipline should be complemented by a strong applied ethics background in an area of specialization such as Legal Ethics, Philosophy of Law, Political or Social Philosophy, or Business Ethics. An ABD or masters with theoretical background might be considered if candidate has adult teaching experience and strong professional experience.
Local candidates are preferred for teaching assignments but qualified instructors outside local area may be considered. The University does not sponsor candidates or reimburse relocation expenses.
The successful candidate will teach adult students in classes offered on alternating weekends or one night a week for eight weeks. A generous stipend is paid plus reasonable travel expenses incurred with the teaching of the course.
