MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
MSU—Great Falls College of Technology is seeking a full-time librarian to provide mid-management supervision to all operations associated with the College's Library. Will be part of a creative management team that includes librarians from MSU’s libraries in Bozeman, Billings, Havre, and Great Falls. The Senior Librarian reports to Associate Dean of the College. Specific responsibilities for this position include:
• Responsible for library policies, procedures, and techniques to assure the effectiveness of library services as well as compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements;
• Supervises and provides the maintenance and delivery of all library services including but not limited to: patron assistance, reference, instruction, collection development and technical services;
• Responsible for the development and implementation of the library’s strategic plan;
• Represents the library in campus committees as assigned;
• Oversees and maintains collection development activities;
• Provides reference services and guides users in the use of library resources; and
• Provides information literacy instruction to students, staff, faculty, and the public through a variety of delivery methods from one-on-one, class, and online.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited program required;
• A minimum of one year directly related work experience required; experience at the postsecondary education level preferred;
• Experience in a facility with PC technology and electronic search technology required;
• Knowledge of core reference resources required;
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing required;
• Excellent interpersonal skills required;
• Budget preparation and management preferred;
• Supervisory experience preferred; and
• Collection development and maintenance preferred.
