Description
Our nursing faculty positions help students develop a career in nursing by teaching nursing skills in the classroom and in clinical. They also provide advisement to students, participate in campus committees and activities and develop coursework as needed.
Duties:
Classroom and clinical student instruction and evaluation
Academic student recruitment and advisement
Curriculum planning, development, and evaluation
Participation in committee and community service activities
Involvement in achievement of departmental and college goals
Qualifications:
BSN and MSN degrees from an accredited institution
Current and unencumbered TN RN license
3 years of recent adult health clinical experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior Teaching Experience
Skills:
Provide critical thinking ability sufficient for clinical judgment
Ability to interact with individuals, families, and groups from a variety of social, emotional, cultural, and intellectual backgrounds
Ability to communicate for sufficient for interactions with others in verbal and written forms
Physical mobility sufficient to move from room to room and maneuver in small spaces
Gross and fine motor abilities sufficient to provide safe and effective nursing care
Auditory abilities sufficient to monitor and assess health needs
Visual ability sufficient for observation and assessment necessary in nursing care
Tactile ability sufficient for physical assessment
Demonstrate commitment to continuous quality improvement in student instruction and professional role development
Demonstrate commitment to the community college concept and team management principles
